Stand-By Breakfast

The point of this blog is to follow most of Tim Ferriss’ 4-Hour Body rules, without limiting flavour or meal variety.

However, for me, this is much easier to do for lunch, dinner, and weekend meals than it is for pre-work day breakfasts.

I usually stick to the same breakfast each weekday morning, because it’s easy and it prevents me from skipping breakfast or falling off track.

This simple and tasty breakfast is our go-to when we don’t feel like being creative in our morning stupor.

Scrambled Eggs with Kale and Salsa


  • Eggs, 2 per person
  • mixture of fresh or frozen chopped spinach and kale*
  • Salsa*
  • Lemon Juice
  • Flaxseed Oil

If using frozen spinach and kale, defrost about half a cup in a nonstick frying pan. Add scrambled eggs to pan and heat until eggs are cooked. Mix in a few tablespoons before removing from heat. top mixture with a teaspoon each of lemon juice and flaxseed oil, and serve.

*While Tim Ferriss recommends using frozen and canned veggies for the sake of convenience, we suggest using fresh ingredients whenever possible. Fresh veggies have a higher nutrient content, and have a lot more flavour. However, it’s a good idea to keep some frozen and canned options around for when you’re pressed for time.
